INCREDIBLE HIGH-CAPACITY FORKLIFTS

Let’s start with a little forklift history from Wikipedia

“The forklift was developed in the early 20th century by various companies including the transmission manufacturing company Clark and the hoist company Yale & Towne Manufacturing. Following World War II the use and development of the forklift truck has greatly expanded worldwide. Forklifts have become an indispensable piece of equipment in manufacturing and warehousing operations. Forklift trucks are available in many variations and load capacities. In a typical warehouse setting most forklifts have load capacities between one and five tons.

Larger machines, up to 50 tons (100,000 lbs.) lift capacity, are used for lifting heavier loads, including loaded shipping containers.”

These are the “Big Boys” we are talking about today. Besides shipping containers, they are used for heavy material handling such as Pipe, Steel, Lumber, Rigging, Marinas and Concrete. They are used in; Large Distribution Centers, Port and Rail Terminals, Manufacturing Facilities and Freight Forwarding.

Customization for specific applications is key to maximizing the potential of these huge machines. Lift Truck Engineers design specialty attachments, lift masts, and customize safety systems such as cameras with remote viewing. Taylor Machine Works is the leader in the large equipment portion of the material handling equipment business and has been for over 87 years. Their products are available by special request through Summit Handling Systems, Inc.

‘TAYLOR MACHINE WORKS’

While Taylor has over 85 models to choose from, ranging in capacity from 16,000lbs to 125,000lbs, here are just two examples of the impressive nature of the unmistakable “Big Red” machines:

TX4 Series Wheelbase and Capacity

TX4-250 (25,000-lb. Cap. at 24″ L.C., 132″ Wheelbase)

TX4-300 (30,000-lb. Cap. at 24″ L.C., 132″ Wheelbase)

TX4-360 (36,000-lb. Cap. at 24″ L.C., 132″ Wheelbase)

4-wheel drive (4WD) forklifts were specifically designed for one task, moving material in the harshest environments imaginable. Whether its snow, mud, or rough terrain, the TX4 delivers unparalleled performance. Unlike other comparable articulated forklifts, this is not a front loader chassis with a fork attachment, but an articulated material handler completely designed and engineered by Taylor Machine Works.

With three different capacities available, the TX4 articulated 4-wheel drive (4WD) forklifts have the capability of out-performing so-called front-end loader/forklifts. To achieve the same capacity from a front-end loader/forklift, the front-end loader/forklift would typically be larger than the 132-in wheelbase offered by the TX4 Series. The TX4 Series articulated 4-wheel drive (4WD) forklifts are true rough-terrain forklifts designed to have no lift capacity deration in full turns and 11ft. of vertical lift from the factory.

The largest pneumatic forklifts currently being produced at Taylor. With capacities reaching 120,000lbs, the T Series 48″ load center forklifts can move massive loads of material whether made from steel, concrete, or any other materials that weigh thousands of pounds.

Taylor Machine Works was built on the premise, “We engineer and build what you need.” This is just as true today as it was in 1927. Taylor Machine Works can design, engineer, and manufacture equipment tailored specifically to meet the material handling needs of your business.

Each model in the T Series line of pneumatic forklifts uses a Tier Compliant Cummins® electronic turbocharged diesel engine. Standard engine features include electronic diagnostic and maintenance monitor, fuel/water separator, engine/transmission protection systems, improved fuel economy, and reduced emissions.

The transmission for all models is a three-speed, fully reversing power-shift transmission with declutch and electric shift control.
